I'm Syreeta Rios, the CEO of Big Gyrl Clothing, Inc. It's great to be apart of a networking site for sistahs, I feel that we can support each other and help each other grow financially, mentally, and spiritually.

My goal is for Big Gyrl Clothing to become the number one retailer for plus size women's apparel. BGC is a fast growing internet based retailer. We are exploring opportunities with department stores and boutiques throughout the east coast and internationally.
I currently design dresses, tops, and tees custom to any size 4-32. There are other tops, bottoms, and accessories for sale online. My latest collection is titled 'Lipstick Killers', for the fierce and fearless woman. She is daring, a risk taker, and SHE wears the garment, the garment does not wear her!

- Since December 2005.
- Why did you go into Business?
- I became frustrated and lost in corporate america. Trying to get to the top, sometimes you can lose yourself, forget who you are and what talents you have hidden deep inside that they keep sheltering from you. If you don't have the right connections or know the right people, then you wil never advance. If you know the right people, but refuse to act and be like them, then you will not advance. I refused to be trapped in someone else's dreams and deceptions. I started focusing on my fashion talents and took a leap with a business plan boot camp class. Although I am in a new plantation, time can only tell how long. Strive!

As far As my home based business, I haven't completely taking the plunge but, I'm 90% there!
Here's my thing:
I can no longer fall victim to a work place that has not set up ample respect for the single mom! My last job wanted me to work from 4pm-1am. In my opinion, they were telling me to forget about my family, and forget about having a life and let someone else raise your child!
To me, that's truly unacceptable as well as, on the other hand, motivating.
I can't continue to do the same thing and get the same results. I think they call that "insanity", right!
For me, that was a serious wake up call. So now, I'm working through this thing called "fear" and it's been a douzie! However, I plan to succeed at all cost.
I have too! I'm not giving myself any other option and you shouldn't either.
Always remember that we come from a background of strong survivors that would do anything for the price of freedom, even risk loosing their lives.
So , on that note, lets expect to succeed. Let's plan, organize, and execute! Let's be that person that we are waiting to show up! Let's do the do! Let's make a committment to hold each other accountable for success. I'll take the stand first.
