The Hip Is In The Hop - The Poem - Please Post Comments

From Rock to Rhythm & Blues, to Classical, Country, and even Pop,
All are now willing to acknowledge the greatness of Hip Hop.
Although the melodious harmonies do vary
And are to the contrary in content and form.
The mere thought that you, can combine any of the two,
Creates a pleasingly tuneful storm.

You see, when we do combine any type of music to a slickly put rhyme,
A favorable endorsement is always hard to stop.
Like when hip-hoppers paired with those of Rock -n- Roll,
The fire of the “match” was hard to control.
That’s why in ’86, teens jammed their kicks to “Walk This Way, talk this way”,
In a form I like to call, Rock Hop!

See my amounts are ample and here’s another example,
Of the fusion that many fans seemed to like a lot.
Plenty thought it was Phat and “Cool Like That”, to put Jazz with Hip Hop.
In years befo’, there were many for sho’,
Who thought this fusion would be equal to a pile of junk,
But, you don’t have believe me.
Just listen to Heavy D when you cop, “A Bag of Blue Funk”.

Because Music is most definitely universal, and usually without much rehearsal,
The rhythmic beats can make your head bop.
Like Hiphop’s fusion with Reggae, still “Boombastic, really Fantastic” til this day,
To create what I like to call, Rizzop!

Then someone had an idea they thought would be funky,
And that was to bring Hip hop into the world of Country.
When the sounds of the South, merged with the words of a lyricists’ mouth,
The two locked like the bars in the slammer,
When the experiment was through, much to the delight of many of you,
We got Nelly with his “Country Grammar”.

Did you know there was a fusion of Heavy Metal with that of Hip Hop,
Do you see the method to the madness and just like the Rhythm of the Rhyme,
How it just won’t stop,
Music lovers from everywhere came out to “Kick It”.
And, when the fun was done and out came the sun,
Thus the birth of Limp Biskit!

Though others are confused,
I am continuously amused, by those who don’t believe Hip Hop’s effect to be magical.
Cause when creativeness is left to brothers like Wyclef,
Hip Hop can even be paired with classical.

Now, I hope that I have been able to provide a Semi-Hype show,
By demonstrating the power of the lyrical flow and,
The fact that music is constant, on and on, and will never stop.
So the two are ours to savor, but if any tune lacks a little bit of flavor,
ALWAYS Remember, the Hip is in the Hop!!!

Long Live Hip Hop
